Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt

The man whose nickname is Lightening Bolt took the world by storm by his amazing and unbelievable speed. Born on August 21, 1986, in Jamaica, as Usain St. Leo Bolt, is the fastest man on the face of the earth and the first man to hold both the 100m and 200m world records since fully automatic time measurements became mandatory since 1977. With the support of his team mates, he also set the world record in the 4*100 m relay.
Born into a middle class family, he spent most of his time playing cricket and football because at that time, those were the only things which held his interest. He started running when he was in school and represented his school and by the time, he reached 12, he had become the fastest runner over 100m race in his school. When he entered high school, his cricket coach took notice of his speed and made him concentrate on his athletic abilities.
He appeared at 2001 IAAF world youth championship in Debrecen, Hungary but failed to qualify for the finals, partly due to his careless attitude towards his coaching. He got a chance to prove his credentials on the world stage by competing in the prestigious event of 2002 World Junior Championships before his own people in Jamaica and made him the youngest world-junior gold medalist. He won gold medals in 100m, 200m, 4*100m relay in Beijing as well as in London Olympics thus giving him fame across the world.
