US goalkeeper arrested for domestic violence


Us women’s soccer star Hope Solo was arrested when police responded to a 911 call before 1 a.m. complaining that a woman was hitting people and refusing to leave at the Kirkland house. She was arrested for fighting with her relatives. Solo was staying with her husband Jerramy Stevens a former NFL player. According to the police she was arrested in a drunken state. They also stated that her sister and 17 year old nephew were injured.

Solo was under the investigation for Fourth degree domestic violence assault. She is playing for the Seattle Reign in the NWSL with her 150 appearance for the U.S women’s national team. She was expected to be in custody till Monday at Kirkland Municipal court. It is noted that Stevens was arrested before the marriage with Solo for an assault between two. However he was not charged and Solo mentioned that she is happily married and there was no assault between her and her husband Stevens.

Solo has mentioned in one of her interviews after the assault matter at 2012 stating that she cannot stand domestic assault and that she has never been hit in her life. She has lead U.S women’s team to a back to back victory at Olympics of 2008 and 2012. US national Women’s team finished runner up at 2011 women’s world cup held at Germany. Her popularity has made her do a magazine pose for ESPN in 2011 for The Body Issues. She has made her appearance in “Dancing with The Stars”, an ABC’s hit show. She was not in squad for a friendly match with France. The team announced due to her family issues she will not be a part of the team.
