CMR’s Taylor Edwards Signs With Montana State Billings

CMR’s Taylor Edwards Signs With Montana State Billings

If you thought that Taylor Edwards is afraid of being tested you are wrong, in fact, she prefers a challenge.

On Wednesday, Edwards, a senior guard at C.M. Russell High, signed an NCAA Division II scholarship offer which was presented to her by Montana State Billings women’s basketball program. During the signing process, Edwards spoke about the hard work that she puts in her game adding that more of it will be witnessed during her season with Montana State Billings women’s basketball team.

"They have high expectations and high standards in that program," she said. "That's very important."

While speaking about the signing, Brian Crosby, the head coach of CMR, stated that, "I think they got a steal, I truly do."

"Taylor would have had a great career wherever she would have went. I imagine there will be some schools down the road a little disappointed they didn't recruit her harder."

This season, Taylor has had an impeccable season averaging 15 points a game with 4.6 rebounds. This impressive performance has seen her being ranked among the top AA players in the competition. She currently has 36 treys and she is in track to joining Great Falls Tribune Super-State and Class AA All-State honors.

Taylor is also well known for her ability to light up things very quickly from a distance in fact she surprised many by scoring 28 fast points against Kalispell Glacier.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she comes in right away and has a chance to play down there," said the head coach of CMR, Crosby. “Just because how tough she is and how strong she is."
