Tiger Woods

The real name of Tiger Woods is Eldrick Tont Woods. He was born on 30 December, 1975, in Orange County, California. Today, he is a professional golf player. His father was one of the first African-American baseball players at Kansas State University. After that he was an amateur golfer, so, Eldrick was introduced to golf at age two. After just one year, when he was three years old, he, shot a 48 over 9 holes at the Cypress Navy course. At the age 5, he appeared on ABC's That's Incredible and in Golf Digest. He was one of the best young golfer ever! At the age 6 he won Pitch, Drive and Putt competitions in the Under Age 10 section. At the age 8 he won 9-10 boys event at the Junior World Golf Championship. This was the only championship available for him. Tiger Woods won Junior World Championships 6 times!

During his career, he won: Master Tournaments in 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005; U.S Open in 2000, 2002 and 2008; The Open Championship in 2000, 2005 and 2006; PGA Championship in 1999, 2000, 2006 and 2007. He was PGA Player of the Year in: 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2013.

In 2007 he was inducted into the California’s Hall of Fame. This was announced from the California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the same year he was inducted at the The California Museum for History. He was named Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year and Athlete of the Decade by the Associated Press. Tiger Woods is the only athlete who was named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year, several times.
