Andre Agassi: A brief summary of his career

Andre Kirk Agassi is a very famous former tennis player from the United States. He was born in 1970. He had been in the position of World Number one.  He dominated the game of tennis during the entire two decades of 1990s and 2000s because of his power packed performance in the game. Most of his colleagues and critics entitle him to be the ‘the greatest tennis players of all time’. It has been observed that his service returns had been the best in the whole history of the game.
Agassi’s first game of tennis was because of a wager his father had placed with Jim Brown, a football legend. He was only nine years of age then.  His formal training started when he was 13 years old in the Tennis Academy of Nick Bollettieri. His professional career started when he was only 16 years old in La Quinta, California. He had not only won various Grand Slams but also Olympics gold medals. He had won 4 Australian Open, 1 French and Wimbledon open and 2 US Open championships. He had been the Gold Medalist of Olympic Games in tennis, 1996.
Agassi retired from professional tennis in 2006 when he started to suffer from sciatica. His lost his last game to Benjamin Becker in the US Open third round.  He is also involved in various philanthropic ventures. He has founded Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation for at-risk children. His institution is known to raise over 60 million USD for the cause. He has been labelled as a charismatic tennis player.
